Sumptuous produce...

Yesterday my old-fashioned mail slot delivered a catalog from my favorite muse {Anthropologie}.  The {matte} pages were full of vivid aesthetics – the sumptuous produce has me longing for summer.
And one more, to carry you through the weekend, because I cannot get enough persimmons.

Another Autumn week...

It's official.  Golden tones and amber hues are drifting from the trees {and floating into in my yard}.  Ah, Autumn.  These ruffles of yarn laced together {the Leonora Scarf} should help insulate against the crisp Pacific Northwest mornings.
Enjoy this glimpse of my recent words at EcoSalon {take a look, maybe even leave a comment or rate my words}.  Indulge in the gorgeous aesthetics of mathematics with this collection of graphic and bold numerical morsels.  Tour a gorgeous modern model home with a fireplace to die for.  Sink your toes into this interior boasting floors of sand {yes, sand}.  Plunge into my thoughts on green design and peruse a new online magazine.    Explore a mid-century modern muse.  Devour these cardboard sculptures to hang on your wall and suspend from your ceiling.  Admire this lovely and creative studio.  Let your eyes examine these graphic eye charts on an array of commodities.  I know, I know...a lot to read...but oh so worth it.

Get bold between the sheets...

Despite my best efforts, I cannot seam to harness sunshine and will it into my day, but I can infuse a glowing ray of color to nestle just beneath my duvet.  These sheets are the epitome of Summer.
These amiable wares from Anthropologie are an irresistibly vibrant color in the delicate form of a vivid design. The Circle ‘Round Sheet Set is a lovely field of, “petite dots and bitty petals,” sprinkled on a bed of organic cotton.

{This was my brave attempt to embrace Fall - only I think I still wound up tangled in Summer.}

Scavenger hunt...

Sifting through the new delights at Anthropologie always leaves me feeling full {of ways to spend my life savings} and graciously satisfied. This Copper Clad Dresser has me smitten; I would like to set 'him' up with his copper tolix soul mate for undeniable eternal bliss.
And now, a scavenger hunt. Here are a few of my words on EcoSalon. Squeeze the last few drops of summer from September with this gathering of rope commodities for a nautical splash of coastal bliss. Tour the art studio of my dreams {in a lovely custom barn}. Learn the proper proportions of world geography with these gorgeous wall maps {do I even need to mention the metallic seas?!?}. Take another trip through Liza Giles' London flat {no, I will never tire of this interior}.

The glow of this Redsmith Dining Chair {from Anthropologie} is enthralling me with copper bliss and Tolix charm.
Here's a glimpse of my work at EcoSalon this week {take a look, maybe even leave a comment or rate my words}.

Auction House Awe {Jimmie Karlsson + Anything = Stunning}
Shine and Sheen {Dispelling confusion about paint finish selections}
Handpicked: Pure Green {Celine Rogers + Pure Green = Tolix Perfection}

Oh, those walls, too...

Exposed bricks make me smile.  I adore the texture and history they communicate.  One day I will have walls like this.

Anthropologie 201...

Remember the lecture series I promised?  Let the lecture continue. Today Anthropologie will light up your living room {and life}. This post is all about tufts and weaves, upholstered goods, and window textiles.
This Battersea Sofette has all the tufts and charm your living room desires.
In case your sofa is lonely, here is a charismatic companion - the Conservatory Chair.
Dress your window panes with glamour, these panels are unique and completely adorable: Adorations Curtain, Buttonwood Curtain, Deep Sea Curtain, Viceroy Velvet Curtain, and the Spiral Vine Curtain.
Though I am not easily won over by curtains (not usually my cup of tea, I admit), how delicious are those Deep Sea Curtains?!?!

Anthropologie 101...

A lecture series is in order.  There are so very many swoon-worthy fascinations at Anthropologie these days.  Where else to start than Anthropologie 101?!?  First class - lighting.
The Halo Chandelier is, well, angelic.

This Washed Ashore Lamp is a breathtaking sculpture of reclaimed wood; imagine it graced with the All Around The World Shade.  Simply lovely.
Function meets form in the Blazon Gleam Pendant; it will {eventually} have a gorgeous patina.
The Mechanic's Beacon Light is "aglow with both industrial charm and delicate grace."
If you prefer light with a shade of elegance, the Fluted Pendant Lamp will steal your heart.

Anthropologie, sweet anthropologie...

Last weekend was full of firsts; my husband and I had our first walk among the streets of downtown Portland, my first trip to the Mecca that is Powell's Books, my first dance with the 'Pay to Park' machines {the machine wins round one}, my first adoration with the Pearl District and the Brewery Blocks, and my first brush with Anthropologie hardware.
As I strolled through Anthropologie admiring hangers of ruffled cashmere and hand printed linen, I spotted three large stands of vivid glamour heaped in bins.  The bins are large, round, tiered, and revolving, not unlike the nail bins at a hardware store, where I used to glee at the 'tinks' of dropping nails into the galvanized aluminum buckets as my dad shopped for a myriad of household projects.  But unlike the sharp, severe nails wearing a coat that will soon fade and rust, the hardware is brilliant, glossy, feminine.
Here is just a sample; a small, whittled, severely edited sample from those pretty hardware bins {it could be much, much larger}.
The Battenberg Iris Bracket is a graphic interpretation of lace and irises.  A rustic reclaimed shelf would look perfect lounging above a duet of distressed brackets.
A doorknob conceived in heaven, the Flora Forever Doorknob will have your hands gracefully caressing lustrous ceramic.
If you prefer subtle, delicate indication to decorative accent, the Hello Goodbye Doorknob will greet you with whimsical charm and leave you with a smile.
Anthropologie houses a collection of melon knobs that would make the produce aisle envious of their vibrant color and succulent curves.  From top to bottom, Ceramic Melon Knob {Orange, Antique Brass}, Mercury Glass Melon Knob {Silver}, and Ceramic Melon Knob {Pink, Zinc}.
A few more knobs worth revealing, from top to bottom.  Peeping Posies Knob in yellow, emitting perfect cherry blossoms with scalloped trim.  The Chronograph Knob is a timeless update by way of its stopwatch persuasion.  The delicate brass Arthurian Knob {Oval} is a filigree ellipse molded into a three dimensional wonder.
This Card Catalog Pull makes me long to be a librarian just so I can get my hands on a card catalog to adorn with pristine brass plates.
And finally, the Dunluce Hook is, "A quatrefoil filled with filigree laurels...."
And, just in case you need a lovely sparkle or two to hang on the beautiful Dunluce Hook, the Hanging Bellflower Bib Necklace {top} and the Silver Foxglove Necklace {bottom} are both just enough to compliment you and more than enough to compete with perfection of the hardware.
